Every day, I work with some of the best people in the industry

lisa2Lisa Wengler has been a Security Architect at Onevinn for the last six months. It was her great interest and curiosity about working with IT security that led her to apply.

Lisa has long had a big interest in IT, which has been one of her hobbies for many years. She is self-taught in many areas and studied IT and security/ethical hacking at Edugrade in Hudiksvall. During that course she discovered Onevinn and chose to do her placement here.

“I became aware of Onevinn because they focus on IT security and not just IT technology. It’s the security aspect I’m fascinated by and wanted to specialise in.  And this felt like the perfect place to continue my development in this area,” Lisa says.

Support from helpful colleagues
According to Lisa, the best thing about Onevinn is that there are lots of competent and helpful people.

“I felt comfortable right from the start because there was an understanding that I was a new graduate. This meant I could relax and ask when I needed help to understand something. At Onevinn you're allowed to be new in your role, and that feels very reassuring,” she says.

Always opportunities to develop
Onevinn offers internal skills exchanges, including through internal lectures. This means anyone who is interested has the opportunity both to learn and to share knowledge with their colleagues. Lisa describes herself as a perfectionist who is never entirely satisfied with her work. She always sees the opportunity for improvement in the work she does, so training is a welcome element.

”Gaining new knowledge from really competent people is one of the best things about my job. There's always something new to be good at. And because the IT industry is constantly evolving, there are always new goals to aim at and experience to learn from,” Lisa says.

Fun activities create a good atmosphere
Lisa works from head office in Gothenburg for half of the time, and the other half from home. She enjoys the variation and has good contact with her colleagues, both remotely and in the office. And Onevinn’s quarterly meetings are also often combined with fun activities such as padel tournaments, boat trips to the archipelago and spa weekends. Lisa appreciates these because they give her even more of a chance to get to know her colleagues better, including those who work elsewhere in the country.

“It’s lovely to be able to work from anywhere. As long as I do what's required of me, and deliver what the customer needs, I have huge freedom. As colleagues, we all get on really well, and when we’re at the office together we often come up with fun things to do. It’s a great atmosphere,” says Lisa.
